Who are Swegwaysplus?

Swegwaysplus is a limited liability partnership established in 2015, with offices at Cheetham Hill Road, Manchester. These offices are not open to the public. We trade online as Our warehouse is in Miller Street, Birmingham.

The company is managed by two entrepreneurs with detailed knowledge of the scooter market and a former solicitor.

We are not open to the general public, thus keeping our costs down, rather we trade, sometimes drop shipping, to the public direct, using EBay, Amazon and our website

Do we have our own stock?

The majority of our sales are sent directly from our Birmingham warehouse. Normally when you buy from us, we use our own stock unlike drop shipping when a retailer sells another’s stock. Having our own stock is critical because unlike many others, we have full control over deliveries and timing. With our own stock, we know exactly what we have in store and when it will be delivered.

What does Swegwaysplus aim for?

Our aim is to become the largest UK seller of self-balancing scooters.

Our mission is to offer the best in self-balancing scooters, reasonably priced with terrific after sales service and personal telephone contact.

Our margins are slim but profitable with our prices often postage paid. COD is £16 extra charged by UPS to us.

Country of Origin

Usually China. We often import from a German company with a manufacturing arm in China.

So what’s a Swegway?

Celebrities love them: Brooklyn Beckham, Snoop, Chris Brown, Lily Allen, and Justin Bieber. What do they see in them? It all started some years ago with Segway who devised personal transport vehicles that enable balancing and maneuverability. Electric propulsion enables fine adjustments to each wheel for accurate turning, smooth ride traction control and braking.

In contrast, Swegways (with a “W”) are less expensive, smaller with less facilities, forcing us to use the body’s self-balancing instinct while having great fun. There is no handle – bars! In short, “Swegways” developed, as the UK generic name for a mini version scooter offering a self-balancing personal hover style board.

After spending months of research investigating product speaking to customers, our Swegways offer good movement and react to your balancing skills. We sell under our company name – SwegwaysPlus. We are seeking a UK trade mark.

Our boards are responsive, great value, suit children over 9 and adults alike and most important – fun, with headlights and Bluetooth technology on the 8 inch models.

Spend a few minutes watching our videos before you buy.

Are Swegways safe for children or adults?

Swegways should not be seen as a form of transport in the traditional sense. Sure they have a 12 mile range when fully charged and a top speed of almost 10 miles per hour however while there is a buzz riding a Swegway they are not for long A to B trips albeit they can nicely be used around the office, indoors and in quiet places.

They’re easy to learn to ride but, like a bicycle or ordinary scooter, you can fall off them and hurt yourself. Be careful using them. Wear a helmet, knee pads and long trousers. Don’t ride them above a speed you don’t feel comfortable with.

We do not recommend them for children under 9 years of age. Often a younger child is not heavy enough! In any event children must be supervised at all times.

Swegways can be dangerous if not used properly. If your children are to use them outside of the home (and going round the kitchen is a treat) make sure that they’re accompanied. They should never be used on the open road. Even adults should ride them in quiet places, in the country off the road. Check our section on The Law as to where they can be used…. the rules are very restrictive. Indeed, there are park events where they can be ridden with others, under traffic free conditions. Hover parties are now available.

What colours are available that I can choose from?

Our 6.5 inch Swegway is in 10 colours, Black, White, Red, Blue and Gold etc, our 8 inch 4 colours, Red, White, Black, Blue and 10 inch in 3 designs.

Is Bluetooth available?

Our 6.5 and 8 Inch models are often powered by built-in Bluetooth. The Bluetooth speakers connects with your Bluetooth devices.

Are LED lights included?

All our models have LED lights.

Where is my order?

Our boards are delivered, normally within 24 – 48 hours directly to your door postage paid unless you are paying COD when there is an additional £16 charge. Use UPS tracking details sent to you by email to watch the progress of your delivery. We will not take calls about tracking because tracking is under the control of both the customer and UPS.

How can I pay? is it safe?

We want our customers to have a secure shopping experience. We accept payments by Debit/Credit Card or even cash on delivery.
